Android camera errors?

Every so often when i go to use the camera on my phone I either get an error or the camera app crashes. the only other time I've seen this was when i was using another camera app ( can't remember the name) but when i selected options that ,my device could not support the camera driver would crash and make me restart my phone. I've since stopped using that app and the stock camera app is now having problems.My phone is rooted and running the stock rom and I fail to see how a rooted phone could cause the camera to bug out once in a while.

 

it doesn't always crash or have problems but when it does I have to restart my phone or the camera doesn't work.

 

My phone is a S4 mini (Canadian version)

dude sometimes shiz happens. this for example is a common problem with HTC one's

You can try updating your phone (If its a major update)

install a different camera app (A different one than before I suggest trying Google's)

factory reset (This one is a pain)

find an apk of the official camera app remove it and reinstall it.

install a custom rom.

 

If none of the above fix it it may be a hardware problem.
