Mic issue

Hi guys, so I recently bought the Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset and I'm having some serious problems with the mic. It works, but it distorts my voice to a massively deeper one, I honestly don't know what I am doing wrong.

the last time i had a fatality headset(USB) was 7 years ago or so it came with some really awful EQ software that distorted your voice and everything you hear

I feel soooooooo dumb now that I discovered that the issue was the software. I had the EQ turned on to DeepVoice effect. Damit.
