Network card dying?

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

After trying both, I get the same results.

you mean the PCI-E network card?

then time to RMA it

Today while wondering around Stormwind on my Paladin, I'm suddenly disconnected. My chrome browser also stopped working so I tried restarting the router. Nothing, so I decide to restart my network adapter... It's disabled? Thinking maybe I had somehow hit a hotkey I didn't know about, I tried to enable it but it stayed disabled. Maybe a bug in Windows, so I restart my computer. Everything is working again... For about 10 seconds before it does again. I get the same results at varying times, sometimes 5 seconds, sometimes 5 minutes.

What's going on here?

Long story short, this computer is an internet virgin, and only use it strictly with trusted sites (ncix, linustech, battlenet, youtube etc), no downloads or torrents whatsoever(just windows/program updates) so I do not believe this to be a virus. The last updates I performed for Windows was about. 2 months ago, nvidia and corsair gaming around Christmas.

Th card in question is an Intel ct pro pcie 1x card, it's at least 5+ years old now. When enabling my onboard Intel network, controller it works just fine.

looks like it

see if you can find the latest driver for the network card

also remove the 'faulty' network card from the device manager and let the system re-detect the card
