GPU and CPU installation question

Does it matter if I use both 8 pins from psu to connect to 6 pin and 8 pin on gpu or should I do both 6 pins on psu to the 6 pin and 8 pin on gpu? Does it matter?

Just make sure you plug the "EPS" connector into the motherboard, and the PCI to the graphics card. They both look the same so watch out

Yes it matters. If there are 8, use 8 from the psu

8 pin into 8 pin, and 6 pin into 6 pin. Why would you try and use both of the same plugs? Are both 6 pins daisy chained together from the same output?

This is what one of my power connectors looks like.  It has a 6 pin on one side, and a 6+2 pin on the other side.

 

 

 

Now these two pictures are what the 8 pin connector looks like.  There is one 8 pin side, and an 6+2 pin on the other side.

 

 

 

 

 

However, my 8 pin power connector has only 7 wires in it (one corner of the pin does not have a wire.) (I will say that the 6+2 pin side has all 8 pin wires)

7 pins? Shouldnt be correct...mind taking a picture? But so long as all are connected you are fine, so for the GPU 8 pin, you can use either 6+2 or 8 and the GPU 6 pin use the 6+2 and leave the extra 2 pins hanging (dont use them)

This is my first time ever paying attention to the PSU connectors so the 7 pin on one side threw me off.  I'm more of a network guy :)  Right now I have the 8 pin to 6+2 for the 8 pin on gpu, then I have the 6 pin to 6+2 for the 6 pin on gpu with the 2 extra's hanging off.  I just wanted to make sure I was using the right 8 or 6 pin on the PSU side.  Thanks!

The 24 pin connector only has 23 pins in it btw :) But its normal haha, glad to have helped
