I just did a minor update to Windows 8.1 that seems to have reset a lot of my drives. For example, my screen settings changed after the update and i no longer have internet connection. The screen settings were easy enough to fix, but im having a hard time restoring internet to the computer. I have no idea what to look for or what the problem is, only that the update caused it. Foolishly i messed around with a few drivers and have no clue how to fix it. Please help!

Delete the network drivers in Device Manager and see if Windows Update will grab new drivers.

Try to reinstall the driver off of AsRock/Intel's site.

This post is if you are using wireless.

There are some issues with windows drivers when you upgrade a pc to win 8.1, if the drivers from the manufacture website do not work you will have to edit windows drivers and tell it to not use the one windows picked and pick one from a list, and it might not be the right driver aka like you have a wireless n wifi card but the driver that works might say wireless b/g n wifi card.

the video has you pick from whatever shows up, you may need to click the check box that says show compatible hardware and just find your wifi adapter brand and make and pick a driver till one works. but try to use the one from the manufacture first,  and try to get the closest one in the list if not.
