So Guys i was given a laptop to try and fix.  its a compaq presario cq57,  when plugged in the power indicator led doesn't even come on. i've tried 2 different ac adapters and same thing happens. i have taken the DC jack out the laptop and there is no signs of physical damage and its plugged into the motherboard correctly.

I think it may be the DC jack thats faulty.

what do u guys think?

Use a multimeter and check if the voltage is reaching the end of the jack cable, (the motherboard end) if Yes, the MB is the problem, if No, then it is the DC jack
