Alright I have my modem supplied by BT that has their Bt wifi with fon and i want to stop the wifi signals coming off of it but cant get them to tun it off due to reasons. Any one have any ideas to what i could rap around it to block the wifi signals. Tin foil maybe?  any help would be great.

Is this on a phone or laptop/pc?

neither, BT have a "hotspot" service that lets you use other peoples internet

 

@Themastercpu if you get a non BT router it will be fine, but you can opt out and wait a while for them to disable it

what's the problem with someone using the BT fon ? not like they use your bandwidth :3

Metal box of biscuits. Cut some holes for cable passthroughs. The metal box will act as a faraday cage. Plus you get to eat an entire box of biscuits.

 

Since I live on the other side of the channel I cannot help you with a software solution but I think BT will not give you the opportunity to turn of the "public" wifi.
