Display Adapters

Go to solution Solved by Oshino Shinobu,

I think that monitor uses HDMI 1.3, so 1440p is not possible through HDMI.

Your only options to get 1440p are DP and DVI. Seeing as DVI isn't possible, that only leaves DP. So you'd need a DP to DVI adapter.

Hi, I have a Del U2713HM on VGA.

I got this one used for 160usd. Has a minor physical damage on screen and a non working DVI slot.

The damage and the DVI malfunction is fine with me.

However, as I am currently using VGA, I can't achieve 1440p.

So natively, I need to use HDMI and display port. Sadly, my Palit 750Ti doesn't have both. Although it has DVI and Mini-HDMI

What would be the best connector to use?

  • HDMI to mHDMI
  • HDMI to DVI

My goal is to have 1440p res.

Thanks! :)

done googling. Seems that you are 100% right. HDMI is limited to 1080p so its not an option. I hope the DP works though.. :/

HDMI should work fine, HDMI 1.3+ does have the bandwidth for 1440p 60Hz. It will probably require setting a custom resolution in the NVIDIA control panel though. Normal DisplayPort to DVI adapters won't work for this since they are single-link only, so it will be no different than a DVI-to-HDMI adapter unless you get a signal converter for DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI which is much more expensive.
