Hi guys. Some time ago I bought used Acer Aspire 7552G and yesterday I check inside of the Laptop. I cleaned a fan and check thermal paste on the CPU and GPU and It looks bad for me. Here are some pics

My CPU is AMD Phenom II x4 N970 Quad Core, GPU integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650. In stress test CPU reaches 80celsius, I didn't check GPU yet. Here are some questions from me: 1. Is 80celsius too much for my CPU?

2. Is thermal paste burn or used to limits(pics)? Is there danger of damaging my parts if I won'tcheck It quick enough?

3. Paste around parts isprobably unnecessary. Should I remove It or leave It for now? I don't have anything else I can replace It for now and sth has to take the heat.

4. What thermal paste should I buy? Does It make a difference Im using laptop?

5.What are other 2 dieces on pics? They are marked AMD but what are the purpose of them. Also, why are they covered in some strange sponge and not thermal paste?

You need to change that dude.  Arctic MX-2 is a good choice!

For the most part any aftermarket thermal paste will be miles better than what they manufacturers slather on. As long as it has good reviews on Amazon, NCIX, or Newegg I would get it. The artic mx 2 would still be great though.

Laptop - Lenovo Y50   Keyboard - Corsair K95 RGB Cherry MX Brown   Mouse - Logitech G502 Proteus Core   Mousepad - Razer Firefly
