Hello, I'm a computer engineering student. I need a laptop which is light tocarry for software development. I will use it in my school and my other projects. In school we will work on C/C++ and Java, I will also work on Python and etc. I want to ask about something. Can ultrabooks handle compiling an Android music player app written with Java fast and easily? Portability is really important. I found Lenovo Y50-70 with i7 which is not ultrbook but enough for carry. But can a Samsung Ultrabook 9 series or Aspire S7 handle development things good? They have also more battery life for daily use :) thanks for helps...

I use an ultrabook for my software enigneering classes which has a i7-4500U. And its fast enough for compiling java/android/C# projects and stuff. So everything faster or as fast as that i7 in an ultrabook will be fine.

Intel i7-870  //  MSI GTX 670 PE       ///       Intel i7-4500U  //  GT720M

Use my Lenovo Idea pad 2012-era mobile i5 for Python,QT, MEL, C++ development for Maya and Houdini for about 2 years now. Still prefer my desktop due to the amount of screenspace I have (Ultrabook has trouble getting 4K res), but it works wonders for doing some couch-deving.

Thanks for answers :) I am asking it because ultrabooks have high price in my country, Turkey. But they are really really portable. I am asking because ultrabooks have 2 core processors. I have a desktop which has old Intel Core 2 quad q9300 processor. Sometimes it cant handle some codes well. But I will look for ultrabooks. Thanks, everyone
