Is it safe for me to change the graphics card in my system?

From what card to which? 

 

If it's from amd to nvidia. Thats the nuketool http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/16748/ Then plug to the onboard graphics and reboot. After that you are able to install nvidia drivers with no issues.

 

Warning: Nuketool wipes all that is related to amd. So if you have amd cpu drivers those will get wiped too.

Just uninstall the previous drivers if you're going from AMD to nVidia or vice-versa.
