My old set is crackling really bad. Want to spend around $50, they will be used for gaming and very loud music.

Any help would be great :D

The razer electra are pretty good for how much they are. They only have an in-line mic that requires a splitter in order to be used with your pc. They sound great for music, especially bass-heavy music like edm. That bass also works well with games as well. (explosions everywhere).

A few things to consider before buying these:

1.) It comes with 2 cables, one with a mic and one without. These cables are both short, I believe 3.5 feet. So if your audio port is far away from where you would be sitting, consider an extension cable.

2.) the leatherette is really comfortable when you first put them on but can become too warm and irritate your ears after extended periods of use. you can just take them off for a minute or two though and its fine, they aren't the most comfortable of headphones though if you a worried about that.

for $49.99 they are quite worth it. I have 2 pairs of them and I enjoy them. Check them out!

My case is to my right, I can almost bounce my elbow on it so length is not an issue. I don't use a mic much, being able to swap would be nice.

These look really nice for that price, no inline volume is a draw back for me.

How long have you owned yours? any decrease in sound quality?

I have had mine since Christmas. I have 2 of them because ncix accidentally sent me another one for free. So I have pretty much mainly used one pair the whole time. I haven't noticed any sound quality in them.

They seem to be of good build quality as well. I have accidentally smacked them of my desk numerous times and they are fine. also the jack seems to be quite strong. I have no worries at all of these breaking.

They are pretty big too. Big enough that I wouldn't want to wear them while outside. It would look quite silly. But for gaming that doesn't matter.

Especially when they are used with razers new software, "surround". They sound absolutely great in games

LOL! ya that would look silly, kind of like the old radio headsets from the '70s. I am going to keep these in mind along with the CM Storm Sirus.

What about mechanical keyboards? Im on my last board and this thing is so cheap, it bends a lot when I type. Something Under $80.

I have a Razer black widow keyboard. Had this for a bit over a year. I like it a lot but haven't tried any other mechanical keyboards. You can get them under 80 dollars. Your best bet is to head over to the keyboard section of this forum, there are lots of knowledgeable people to explain the different types of switches to find one that best fits you. They know more than I do

I have 2 leopolds from elitekeyboards, a monoprice mx blue and I had a BW.

there's a reason I don't have it anymore.

and back to the original question about headsets.

skip razer, they aren't an audio company.

at around $50 you don't have many good options, monoprice's dj phones or koss porta pros with a zalman clip on or mod mic would be your best bet.

Will work for electronic components and parts

I ended up ordering these, and some sleeved cables. My 24 pin is hideous and the first thing my eyes go to when I look in the window.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826570018
