Massive bukkit server lag

hey i have a mine craft bukkit server on my laptop but i also use the client on there i have a very little performance hit but my friend has a lot of lag and seems to be experiencing a massive delay for example : i break a block underneath him it does not effect him till 5 minutes later

 

My internet speed: ping 13ms, download 29.43mbps, upload1.96mbps

 

if you need more information just ask 

 

p.s my brother likes to download and stream a lot if i added a dual band wireless router just for me would this help

speed and latency, try getting another friend to connect to and see if it is just him. If you want i can check if you PM me the IP.  Adding a duel-band router would not help unless you are maxing out the wireless bandwidth, what wireless router are you currently using and is it 802.11n etc. if your brother is constantly downloading stuff you may be maxing out your connection to the ISP and if your router supports it may want to set up QOS allocating port 25565 high priority

hey i have actually figured it out he changed isp without telling me and is having a massive speed loss but i will try the priority out and is there any way to tell if the bandwidth is being used up

maybe but it depends on what router you are using and if it shows real time bandwidth usage.

Try installing a plugin such as NoLagg. It might help somewhat although it is most likely that it is the connection between you both either you or him.
