I realise this isn't exactly new, but I'm building a computer and would like some help...

Tower X-Dreamer4 http://apevia.com/ProductsInfo.asp?KEY=X-Dreamer4-GN it has 2 usb 2.0 ports for the mouse and keyboard and a 3.0 for drives. It also comes with lots of fans

120mm fan for the last slot: www.coolermaster.com/cooling/case-fan/blade-master-120/

CPU & GPU http://www.intel.com/buy/us/en/product/components/intel-core-i7-4790k-processor-8m-cache-440-ghz-395741 & http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5209#ov I went with nvidia/intel because nvidia has a system to tell it what games at what resolution you want and it spits a gpu. No guessing from specs nor looking at benchmarks for every single one and manually sorting.

RAM: http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-10600cl9d-16gbnt- just need 16 gigabytes, and I hear 2x8gb is the best way to do it, don't care much about speed so long as it's in the ddr3 range and latency 9 is fine. Within that this was the cheapest model I could find.

Motherboard: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=647#spec that was the cheapest motherboard I could find that fit (to my knowledge) with all the previous part.

I was looking at SSHDs, but seagate and toshiba seem to be the only ones who make 'em. Seagate doesn't tell you anything about them and toshiba made them impossible to find on their site. I may just get an ssd, I was looking at samsung http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/office/memory-storage and angelbird http://www.angelbird.com/en/prod/ssd-wrk-651/#overview but, I'll look at some others.

I'm looking a good contrast ratio, cheap 1440p monitor, but don't care much for exceptional response time or refresh rate. Haven't found anything yet.

While I can afford the current system, it's quite a bit. If there are areas where you think I could cut the cost down that'd be great.

In general if there is anything I could do better or that's completely broken I'd like if you could say. Thanks.

I recommend using PCpartpicker.com. You'll get a better response this way, because it's easier to view.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

Hi! Welcome to the forums! There is a guide at the head of the forum on how to post requests. Also a bit of formatting goes a long way!

1 Your better going with a Z97 motherboard as your prosessor is one of the haswell refresh (newer chip newer motherboard)
If your tring to keep the cost down, go with a 4770K and keep the motherboard, that should be fine. but for an even cheaper system you go buy the non-k version and get a B85 motherboard.

2. if gaming at 1440P a 980 may do you better. (graphics)

^ This, and please stay away from Biostar motherboards. They are terrible, and not worth the price.
