Since you guys are so helpful, I was wondering if you guys can answer another quesiton. Recently my girlfriend decided to get into gaming again, but she has a crummy laptop that would overheat to quickly, so I decided to build her own computer to play games and draw on. Not very graphically intensive but something that she can play Goat Simulator or GTA V a reasonable level when those come out. What do you think, could I go a little lower on this build.

for GTA V you want an i3 atleast, judging from how gta 4 sucked.

She doesn't care either way, gta 4 or 5. Not very picky.

you need 4 threads judging by how new aaa games dislike dual cores.

There is no real performance boost from getting an i3 versus the Pentium. But I would Go with a Quad Core seeing as how many games don't even load with dual cores.

(Just a suggestion, But you could always buy these parts and upgrade later)

stop joking. there is a performance boost AND the dual cores get locked out from new games nowadays.

Gta 5 port is made by the same people who made the max payne 3 port which runs fantastic in my opinion aside from msaa seeming to be a little more intensive than normal for your average game.

Ryzen 3700x -Evga RTX 2080 Super- Msi x570 Gaming Edge - G.Skill Ripjaws 3600Mhz RAM - EVGA SuperNova G3 750W -500gb 970 Evo - 250Gb Samsung 850 Evo - 250Gb Samsung 840 Evo  - 4Tb WD Blue- NZXT h500 - ROG Swift PG348Q

well good, but still there are many games which benefit quite a bit from 4 cores. We need to stop the pentium hype.

For the case, I think something like an NZXT Source 210 would be more than suitable. Also, go with a Seagate 1TB drive.

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.
