So I was building my new pc today and when I went to test it, all the lights came on along with the fans however there was nothing showing on my monitor. After about 10 seconds the pc would turn off and then on again constantly. The BIOS clock on my motherboard, the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming GT ATX LGA1150 said D2 meaning there was a PCH Initialization error. I have no clue how to fix this or what it means. Please can you help me.

Thanks

I don't see anything wrong with the parts list, but some people are saying that it's to do with CPU/BIOS incompatibility, which clearly isn't the case here.

Your best bet is to RMA the mobo...

Sig under construction.

Reconnect all cable again after removing everything and test it outside of the case just to be sure.

Attempt a BIOS update too if possible.

Last option is to RMA the MB.

Try seeing if it will post without the GPU in it.

If it does update BIOS

it doesnt anymore. even without anything attached - the system doesnt post. it goes into bootloop and before the syetem reboots - the debug led shows D2, which is, according to gigabyte's documentation - "PCH initialization error".
