im currently in the process of building a new rig for gaming and what not. I just need to know if the A10-5800k is able to be paired with a high end AMD GPU, will it perform well? mostly games like league of legends and i want to be able to stream using obs. I do have an old nvidia quadro i can stick in the new rig if that would help with the x264 encoding with obs

Why can't a Cleric/Priest/Bishop help a beginner KoC? Cause he's No-bless...When I post something, the thread dies.OR I'm incredibly good at giving informations,
OR I'm a thread killer.
Prolly both.

No, if paired anything higher than a R9 280 your cpu will bottleneck. It also makes no sense to get a APU if your getting a graphics card. APU are for people who can't afford a GPU as of right now, and if that's the case I'd get a A10-7850K instead

I recommend to go with an i5, the CPU part of the APUs is not very good...

You are far better off by investing your money into something with more CPU horsepower, since you'll going to use a dedicated GPU.

If you still want to stick with FM2/FM2+, get the Athlon x4 860k (basically a 7850k with disabled GPU).

But still, even a locked i5 like the i5-4440 will do a much better job than an APU.

I already know that. But if OP isn't purchasing a graphics until the upcoming months. Then a A10 is still the overall better choice. But if he is, then i'd get a 860K + 280, or i5 w/ a h81 board

I assumed that he'll buy the CPU/Mobo at the same time as the GPU, so an iGPU is not necessary.

But if he should really buy the GPU later, maybe the iGPU of an i5 would do the job?

The iGPU plays pretty well at 720p lol for counter strike, that's what i'm doing until I get a Galax 980

They aren't overprice... Once you put together a AMD FX and Intel build they equal the same price, and you get newer tech and better overall cpu for the same amount of money.

Sounds like a plan. Have you picked out your motherboard?
