Magic works

What have I done wrong?

I have 2 R9280x in my System in crossfire,

I have Enabled crossfire via the AMD Control Centre,

I go and play games (at this point Sniper 3) when I look at GPU Usage Via NZXT Cam Gpu 1 has high use but GPU 2 in at a big fat Zero,

why is my second card not doing anything?

It's possible that Sniper 3 (I'm assuming Sniper Elite III?) doesn't utilise the second GPU at all.

Crossfire only works in fullscreen, too.

And as @The jolly roger said, you did install the Crossfire bridge, right? Some of the R9 2XX series doesn't need it, but the 280X does.

The Bridge is there, I have been running in full screen, and yes Sniper Elite III,

ill have to try some other games and see if I have the same problem with them.

as above ^^^ You have to be in fullscreen for crossfire to work. Make sure CCC is up to date.

You can use application profiles and the checkbox in crossfire settings to force crossfire in applications that don't support crossfire.

I would suggest AFR friendly for Sniper Elite 3.

Try a different game to see if it works in other games.

It might be worth checking the hardware section under the information tab to make sure the second card is appearing as liked adapter and not disabled adapter.

If it is disabled check the "Maximum bus setting on the second card to make sure it is 4x or above.

If it is showing as 2x and disabled re-seat you graphics cards and try again.

I think the problem is NZXT Cam under the basic tab the tells me that GPU 1 is round 90% load, and GUP 2 o% load, but if I look under the Kraken tab it shows them both round the 60% load mark,

can someone give me a name for different soft were to check this out

Congrats. At times I think this forum needs an option to select magic as the best answer.
