Cant OC

Go to solution Solved by ProKoN,

what exactly is your problem?

can you post a picture that says you cant overclock?

you may not be using the uefi correctly msi can confuse people

if you left click or push enter on an item Nothing will happen

you must use the  + \ - keys or key the value in directly to the number pad.

example if you want a 44x multiplier type in 4  4 from the number pad

z87 supports overclocking on all k series 1150 cpus. but it may need a bios update

I changed my mobo and now this mobo is saying my k series cpu doesnt allow overclocking?

yeah, that i know. but my problem is with the z97, i used their software to update bios yesterday. I am working on manually updating bios to see if that helps or not.

If you did a BIOS flash then possibly your Intel ME (Management Engine) firmware is corrupted.

Idk, but i flashed it and its still not letting me oc. The highest it'll do is the auto oc to the 4.4 the cpu and already do.

My problem is the options to oc on my mobo bios(ex. Core clock speed/ vcore) are not usable in any way. They are locked at the standard settings, the core clock speeds are stuck on auto and I am not able to change it to manual. I flashed a bios update earlier today and the MSI mobo updater is showing the bios version as A.30 currently.

As you can see the CPU Ratio has no bars around it, meaning it can not be changed. All settings with bars can be changed easily by left clicking on them, but I cant oc using left clicking or +/- on the numpad.

I was able to change the BCLK to 102.98 giving me 4.531GHz but changing the BLCK higher reduced the ring freq so that was the highest oc i could get out of it.

highlight cpu ratio

use the + \ - keys on the number pad to adjust your cpu ratio or key it in directly!!! for 44x use the number four on the number pad 4 4

these items are adjustable they dont have brackets around them!

if you just cant figure it out you can use intel xtu to oc your rig.

change the values in xtu and restart. the values will be saved to your bios.
