So basically EVGA just announced two new cards. The 970 FTW+ edition and the 980 Kingpin edition.

I'm wondering personally, what the major difference will be between the FTW and FTW+

On EVGA's website they state that the added backplate has noise cancelling technology built into it reducing the sound by around 6db and some other features that escape me now. I was originally going to pick up a normal FTW card but i'm not sure now. Debating on getting the FTW+ Edition when i can find it on Amazon.

Opinions?

I would like to see this "noise canceling technology" they claim to have in the backplate.

Here's their official input on it.

To me it just looks like PR bs but you never know.

It only claims to reinforce the PCB.

I couldn't find the same detailing on the normal FTW so i guessed it was the plus version only.

I read that, but I see nothing about the technology the OP is referring to about the backplate.

I suppose. I may just stick with the normal FTW then... Case doesn't have a window anyways so it should be fine dust/noise wise.
