Front I/O Smoke

Go to solution Solved by Teqq,

Yes that is a molex connector, you need to attach the front io stuff to this

fpconnect.JPG

hello everyone,

when i finished building my pc about a week ago, i noticed that i forgot to hook up the front I/O L.E.D but i wasnt bothered to go back a connect it. however, today i decided to connect it and i did using a molex from the power supply and i worked just fine for 6-8 hours until i connected my headphone suddenly i smelt smoke and i immediately shut down my system and i identified the source to be the front I/O so i disconnected the LED connection and booted up the system which is now working fine but does anyone know what caused this and if there's a solution for this shit.

Thanks All In Advance :-)

He said he plugged the front panel LED into a molex connector from his PSU...

No, not the HDD_LED+ and HDD_LED- this is the connector:

Perhaps you should have specified in your post as just saying "Front I/O LED" will make us assume that it was the power LED or HDD LED.
