Xeon E3-1225 Overclock

Please help me guys! Is there any way to OC this CPU? A guy sells me an unused one for $130- 140. Maybe it works on Z77/Z68? 3.8-4.0 Ghz is what I want. I don't have any experience overclocking Intel Core series.

AFAIK theese CPU's don't overclock, HOWEVER,

Yup, I ran a E3-1245V2 @4GHz for a couple of hours but saw no real difference apart from what cine-bench said so set it back to normal.

as far as I know you can't.

 

on lga 1155 the BCLK  is locked ,and the E1225 does not have an unlocked multiplier.

 

you might be able to move up the turbo clocks slightly though,the same as with a non-K core i5/i7 processor.
