Hi I've always had the idea of just connecting all my phericherals to a thunderbolt hub and putting my PC in another room. But I've had no idea how to do such a thing. What I'd imagine doing is just put a HUB next to my PC, connect one or more cables from my GPU to the HUB, and connecting USB cables from the PC to the HUB. Then run a single thunderbolt cable to my desk and have another thunderbolt HUB there where I connect all 3-4 monitors and mouse/keyboard.

How many monitors can you run on a system like that or will it simply be easier to just run several displayport/HDMI cables and USB cables instead? If not, then what kind of HUB/cables should I look at?
