SSD: Kingston SV200 SVP200S37A

I just got a SSD from a friend that I need to update the firmware on. His problem was that he would boot up the PC (using the SSD) and after 5-10 minutes it would give an error saying that a SATA device has been disconnected, and a reboot was neccesary. So I thought I would try to update the firmware on the SSD to make it work again, the problem I am having is that once I try to scan for availible devices using the Kingston firmware update software the SSD seem to dismount itself once I start searching for devices. Doing a reboot results in the SSD appearing again, but it still disappears after 5-10 minutes or when I try to scan.
I can create partitions on it before it dismounts.
