Spotify Makes Chrome Slow?

Hello!

 

So, whenever I have Spotify open, Google Chrome becomes extremely slow (I.E. takes about 20 seconds to load a page). My internet speed is OK (20mBps download, 1mBps upload). And I can stream Youtube etc. while browsing without any problems.

 

I haven't tested another browser, but I'll try.

 

Any help is appreciated, since this is getting quite annoying lately.

Chrome is a RAM hog. Kill it and use Firefox or PaleMoon.

 

Can you check your Task Manager for while you are streaming Spotify and Chrome? Also, please check other browers. Could be your internet connection being poo.

FireFox seems to work. While streaming Spotify with Chrome and Opera open (crap ton of tabs on both) i am using "46% Physical Memory"

 

I am just confused as to why Chrome is so slow, when both FireFox and Opera work fine.

Because Chrome is a turd. Really. Maybe you have an extension/addon that is messing up. Try disabling all addons etc in Chrome (safe mode) and then launch Spotify. Does it still go slow?

The only Add-On I had was AdBlock, which I honestly couldn't imagine impacting performance. But, I don't care. If Chrome is gonna be a bitch I'll just use Opera haha,

Is your Chrome and Spotify up to date? Maybe they need some updating.

 

No problem. Hopefully something will fix the issue for you.
