My friend bought the Kraken X61 AIO cooler, installed it, and his CPU got to 99 degrees celsius. He promptly cut power to the computer, and now none of the fans that are plugged into the motherboard spin up, no POST. Nothing. Just the 00 error code on the readout. I'm assuming its either the motherboard or the CPU, or both. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the help

Do you have a spare CPU to put into the motherboard?

Reseat the cooler. I think I almost broke my 4790k by putting the h100i waterblock on too tight. but reseat it and see if it posts

Trying now. He took out the CPU to make sure it and the board didn't have any burn marks on it, which it didn't.

Alright, we figured out he fried the board. Thank you all for your input.

That sucks :( glad you figured it, though!
