SSD Partitioning

I'm looking at getting a Crucial MX100 256GB as a boot and games drive (replacing my 500GB Hitachi DeathDeskstar that's currently doing that) and was wondering about partitioning it. I know HOW to, but was wondering if there would be a noticeable speed difference between the whole SSD as one partition (with games residing under Program Files) and with the SSD split into two partitions (boot and games), because larger capacity SSDs perform faster than smaller capacities. It's probably a bit of a silly question, and if the answer's "it's not noticeable" then I'm guessing splitting the drive makes more sense in case a reinstall is needed or whatever.

Also, on a side note my Deskstar is about 7 years old now and has 8547 hours of use. I've seen people mentioning that Hitachi drives have a higher failure rate (hence the nickname Deathstar) and that HDDs tend to average 6 years of use - more if they're not used as much. However, I've seen people say they've had way more than 8k hours of use before a drive failing and that they've ran Hitachi drives for years without any problems. SMART data reports the drive's health as good, but I am hearing a slight noise (not quite a click; more of a bump sound) though I can't tell whether it's from that drive or my WD Green.
