New to the fourms building a new computer. This build is for gaming with little multitasking, running dual monitor 23in for games and a 32in for music, google, movies streams ext. Needs to be able to run wow on ultra and newer games on high settings. I have disc drive, 2tb hd, and windows. No overclock is prefered. Was thinking about dropping to a i3 4360 3.7 instead of the i5 but i have no idea. I can spend up to 1200 but i dont want to go nuts also this will be built in feb and the new gtx card comes out jan 22 so i was wondering if maybe i should wait for 980 price drop. Any help will be much apreciated

Just figured its going to suck trying to jam a cooler into that case

Well the Prodigy is made for bug air-coolers.

I would get a smaller case though if you want to go itx and want that very small gpu anyways.

Well if you really want that case:

Get an overclockable CPU, preferrably the 4690k and anything up to the NH-D 14. I am not sure whether the NH-D15 fits.

And if you want a great bang/buck card: Get a 290

Much better performance and not even 100,- more. The 290 really cheap at the moment for such a high-end card and the 4690k as well as the Z97 board are newer parts compared to what you picked initially.

I cant tell if you said little multitasking as in you WILL be doing that, or as in you WONT be doing that. If you plan to stream and play demanding games, this is what I'd do (I changed the case to my preference, feel free to change it back):
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($242.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H97M-ITX/AC Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard ($89.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Team Dark 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($65.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($104.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Video Card: PNY GeForce GTX 970 4GB XLR8 Video Card ($324.99 @ Directron)
Case: Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced (Black) Mini ITX Tower Case ($41.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: SeaSonic 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($54.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $925.93

However if you WONT be multitasking, then you can do this:

Same build, just different CPUs. The first one is basically an i7 just without an iGPU and with more cache, and cheaper. Its worth it if you want to stream while playing or anything like that. Otherwise the 4460 is fine.

Just wondering if my build would be able to run my two screens flawlessly. Also how hard is it to move windows 8 from my hard drive to my new ssd when the time comes. Thanks

Yes. The i5 4690k is more than capabale of doing so. And the 970 or 290 great for that too. If you just want to look at streams, listen to music and such, you could even utilize your iGPU from the 4690k and hook the second monitor up to the mainboard I/O. I did that too and it works really well for just viewing content. That way you dedicated GPU can use all its power for gaming and the CPUs GPU-core is actually useful to have.

First, add in a hard drive with at least 500 gigs of storage, and a better video card, try a 970 if that's possible

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

@SignInWithTapatalkID, good build.

I would suggest going with an Asus H97I Plus motherboard. Adds WiFi and Bluetooth. Will not overclock, but then the cpu doesn't oc either.

If the budget can take it I would also suggest going with a better gpu. Something like EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB ACX 2.0.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
