I have a general question regarding overclocking stability between ram and cpu. I am currently only using multiplier to increase the cpu speed so it isn't effecting the other frequencies or ram speed. My question is regarding ram timing and stability. Does lower ram timing increase stability of the cpu and ram?

My current rig is fx-8320, ripjaw x 2133mhz, and sabertooth 990fx r2

The cpu is overclocked to 4.8 Ghz and I'm trying to get a stable ram speed with this ram I have the ram set at 1866ghz atm (I read that most fx processors can't run 2133 due to bad mem controls but it could be just my inexperience that has caused this instability). If you need anymore information please ask and thank you for any feedback.

I don't know about being unable to use 2133MHz on AMD... but lower RAM timings etc have nothing to do with CPU overclock stability. They should be completely separate as far as I know, unless you OC the CPU by increasing the base clock (bclk).

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

THE INFORMATION GUIDES: SLI INFORMATION || vRAM INFORMATION || MOBILE i7 CPU INFORMATION || Maybe more someday
