Razer Keyboard recommendations?

RAZER IS HAVING A 50% OF SALE FOR EVERYTHING BUT SYSTEMS TRMW OMG MUST HAVE IT ALL

But sadly I've limited my self to a keyboard. I have no idea what to choose.

To start, I have no clue about what these cherry switch things are so i'll list what I'll be doing:

1) FPS Games (Mainly BF4.)

2) School Reports (Moderate - to heavy typing)

Some things that would be nice would be RGB lighting and not to much noise (but if the performance gains are worth the noise, then screw it).

Can you guys help me pick a good keyboard from Razer?

Thanks in advance!

ummm... Get a steelseries or corsair or logitech before razer.... I like their mice and things, but not keyboards... But if I had to pick one... I guess the blackwidow would be it...

Ive got an Apex Raw from steelseries, a couple of my friends have Razer's keyboards and theyve both had trouble with the materials. (An anansi losing its texture... very weird and a blackwidow had trouble with the lighting on the indicators [caps, num lock, gaming mode, etc])

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

You'd probably want the cherry mx brown switches or razer orange switches. Mx blues and razer green switches would work too, but they're loud and you need to let the key reset to actuate it again.

RGB lighting is featured on the chroma series of keyboards.

By the way, where is this wicked sale?

Woo!

Razer's website I believe. Someone posted a thread earlier about it:

Really? I'm on an APEX and the keys always jam upon my press. They feel quite mushy to be honest. Maybe I got a bad unit.

Umm, that happened once on my number 4 key (normal 4 not numpad) but i took the keycap out and put it back in and its been working perfectly ever since, happened on the 2nd or 3rd day, I guessed it was because it was new and it had too much friction due to it not being used. other than that, ive got no problems.

I just miss being ablo to program custom LUA macros or something on the Steelseries software T.T

Well, if the prices are SUPER low then it's maybe worth it.

Of the keyboards, the Blackwidow is the only RGB one. You either have a choice of Kailh Blues or Kailh Browns (Razer greens and oranges respectively).. Blues are loud, browns are not. They are both tactile, have a 1.9 MM actuation point and both are.. well.. Kailh switches....

If you really must then get the Blackwidow in the Stealth for quiet or the regular one for clicky.

Or you could ditch Razer altogether and get a decent set of peripherals that won't break.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

So I've been convinced.

Say I wasn't to get a keyboard from them, but rather a replacement for my steelseries siberia headset. What are your thoughts on the Razer Tiaga 7.1?

Can't seem to find anything about the product you're speaking of.

If you want my opinion on audio, get something like the Superlux 668s or 661s and have a SUPER HUGE sound stage and then buy a mic separately. Pretty much all gaming headsets are crap. The Superlux with also sound amazing listening to music.

My recommendation is getting something like a mousemat from them or something that has zero chance of failing. If they offer a discount on their older stuff then that's worth a look too.

Wow, I said Tiaga instead of Tiamat. My apologies. I'll just save my money for a sennheiser headset or something of that sort. Thanks for all your help!

No problem! And also, for future reference, older Razer stuff seems to be more reliable from what I have heard. Anything past 2013 though is a no-go.

The Sennheiser HD 518s look like a great deal I must say. I would for sure get those if they're in budget!

Those are my thoughs on them.

I stopped using "gamer headsets" long ago. right now using some PMX 95 from Sennheiser (i cant wear headbands T.T my head sweats) and a logitech USB mic that came with my rockband long ago. The sound is great (has a bit of extra bass but i got used to it and i can even tell more the footsteps in games and such) and the mic just works great. clear sound, totally 101% recommended to get a USB mic.

My friend (backwidow guys) also has the tiamat 7.1.. RMAd them 2 times already... yes, no KD. The sound quality is "accetable". its not bad, but i payed 50€ for a similar sound with mine, and i really cant tell the difference with the 7.1 crap, my soundcard and game developers give me directional sound (digital surround) soooo.... not wurf it.
