So I was planning on using distilled water and silver coil. I heard from some forum members that may void my EK waterblock warranty??? That had been my plan & I haven't done much research on anti corrosives/biocide because I heard silver coil did the job. Should I now look into some kind of coolant? What are my options?

You need to distinguish between biocide and anti-corrosive. A silvercoil is the former, but not the latter (so is ptnuke). But as long as you don't mix metals (copper/brass/nickel are ok together, but avoid aluminium), you don't have to worry about corrosion, so just a biocide is fine.

Any recommended biocides?
