need input for a router upgrade

i am looking to upgrade my old.....old router

to a ASUS RT-AC66U

sound real good.

what do you think?

is there a better one . i don't want to spend over $200

Well it depends on you and what you will use it for. This router is number one on a lot of top 10 ranks of AC1750 so it is great and all the little features you get is amazing.

DD-WRT is supported and I think Tomato is too so it's worth it in my opinion. I have the RT-N16 and it runs great. It was a huge improvement from my WRT54G.

I have the ASUS RT-AC66U and it's pretty great. I haven't used any AC devices on it yet, but N speeds are fine. There are options galore to to tweak in the settings if that's your thing. I'd recommend it.
