When I tried it the Laptop started but the screen did not light up, insted all the LED were shinning. Is there a way I could use the RAM (Can I prepare Somehow my Laptop for the upgrade. I don't think that RAM will work as you are trying to use regular voltage RAM, in a low voltage slot.

That's incorrect. He is using low voltage 1600MHz RAM in a regular voltage slot (will work) but his old RAM is 1333MHz rated, therefore if his motherboard cannot handle the higher speeds, that explains things. Also, their cas latencies might be different.

Did you put in both sticks at once? If you did, take out all but the new stick. See if the new RAM alone will work. If it does not, then either your motherboard cannot handle 1600MHz RAM *OR* you have too much RAM in the board.

HP laptops suck. Badly. Especially for upgrade-ability. And cooling. My god they suck at cooling.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
