Sapphire R7-260X Problem

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

your driver for the GPU was not installed correctly the first time

do not use the driver in the CD, coz it always outdated

use Display Driver Uninstall to remove the current driver

boot to safe mode with networking by pressing on the F8 key after the BIOS splash screen

install the AMD drivers again

and restart.

Hi, I recently purchased a Sapphire R7-260X Graphics Card, and put it in my system. The first time it booted, I was able to get into windows (8.1) and I went to AMD's site and downloaded the latest drivers.

After installing, it told me to restart the computer, which I did. When the computer restarted, the W8 loading icon came up and then the screen went black. When I clicked my mouse, I could see the mouse icon for about 2 seconds and then it went black again.

I then tried uninstalling my card and put the DVI port in the integrated graphics IO, then booting back into windows. I then uninstalled the downloaded drivers and put in the Driver Installation CD from Sapphire. After it installed, I put the card back in, but when I booted it the same thing happened.

My card is definitely installed properly, as I was able to boot from it the first time, and I think this may be a driver issue from AMD. I'm not sure if I should try installing older drivers from AMD. On newegg, people have similar problems with this card, but most of them are actually able to boot into Windows.

Thanks in advance for your help,

KillerVolt

The rest of my system specs (in case there is a problem with compatability):

Intel i5-4440

ASUS B85M-E

Samsung 840EVO 120GB

8GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHZ

Thermaltake 500W OEM PSU
