Hey i'm helping my friend with his new build and am wondering if everything here is best for the buck.
Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor

MOBO: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card

Case: Azza SIRIUS ATX Mid Tower Case (might change)

Power Supply: Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

 

Already have Optical Drive and Windows 8.1(64-bit)

Yup, you did it right, just get a SSD and you should be good to go. Also try Dual Channel of RAM. It's better.

I'd spend less on the motherboard, get dual-channel memory, add an SSD, get a better case, and get a more powerful power supply. If you want to save some more money, you could possibly get a locked i5 and an H97 motherboard.

HOLD UP RIGHT THERE! The power supply you chose only has one 8-Pin connector for the graphics card, and the graphics card needs one 6-Pin and one 8-Pin. I would advise choosing the 500 watt or 600 watt variant of the power supply.

Locked means not overclockable. Some good budget SSDs include the Adata SP600 and Crucial M550.

This is what I think would be the best build, except for the PSU, I don't trust Rosewill
