Hi guys. I'am new at this forum and i hope to find some help here.I' am upgrading my old pc and I' am doing this for the first time.Now I'am running:

 

CPU: Intel Duo CPU E7400 2.8GHZ

Video card: AMD Radeon HD 5500 1gb 

Power supplier: Energon EPS-750W 

Mother board: Foxconn n15235

RAM: 2x2GB

D: Samsung 1TB HDD

C: 100GB (can't see what it is)

 

I' am planning to buy these things:

Mother Board: ASUS Z97-A

CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 Haswell Quad-Core 3.3GHz

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600

Video card: EVGA 02G-P4-3757-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5

Other will be the same.

 

 

Maybe you have some suggestions how to improve this upgrade ? I don't want to spend more then $600 on this.

 

1. Budget & Location
Up to $600. Lithuania

2. Aim
Basically I'am going to play video games like FAR CRY 4, Battle Field 4 and others. Some times video editing and etc. 

3. Monitors
Now i have 1 monitor (SAMSUNG 1680x1050), but sometimes i connect my TV to extend desktop. But I' am not using it very often.

4. Peripherals
I have everythinh

5. Why are you upgrading?

My pc is about 4-8 years old. He really needs improvement.

Looks like a pretty solid mid-ranged build. What about a case? You might also want to get more storage, I assume those drives are nearly full from the use that you have clearly put into your old pc. You also might want to wait a bit longer for Skylake, intel's new line of cpus coming out at the end of this year.

As far as I can tell, no point going for the Z97 board with a 4590 - H97 will work fine for you, as that CPU isn't overclocking compatible. It may be cheaper and have little to no performance loss to go with a Haswell CPU and a H87 board? Ignoring that, seems fine to me. Good luck.
