G430 Headset Replacement

A cluster of water vapor can be used as a headset? /s

My G430's from Logitech have been cracked for some time now, and one of the ear cups finally fell off today.

I have Jerry Rigged them back together with some electrical tape, but i am going to need to replace them soon.

I need some advice on what to buy.  I don't want to spend much more than $100, and i wouldn't mind buying an attachable mic if that is the best route.

Thanks  :D

Oh my f.. oh my.  I went through 4 G930s and the same thing happened.  For all that is holy, do not buy Logitech series headsets with that design.

That Kingson headset is one of the better ones.

Corsair Vengeance 1400 or w/e is alright.. decent hinge design COUGH LOGITECH.  Sound quality leaves something to be desired.

edit:

To be clear, it was through RMAs, I'm not daft enough to buy 4 in a row

My friend got tired of his 430's and went out and got Hyper X clouds. He very much enjoys them. So I think you may have a similar experience.

Ah I see, but just as a disclaimer, it says "virtual 7.1 surround sound" but we only have two ears right? 7.1 surround sound is just a marketing gimmick,we WON'T really find a adequate difference between regular stereo and 7.1. I am seriously telling you, just listen to me and save yourself some gud monies to buy other peripherals...

Here is a proof on why. If you have any headphones or earbuds, use your best ones and play this video which would prove why you can still hear as if it was "7.1 surround sound".

This is true for headphones, as you have the physical drivers not even an inch from your ears.  However 7.1 is indeed relevant when we're talking home theater systems, as the speakers are a bit further away from you, so one can find a noticeable difference there.

Just get a quality pair of stereo headphones, set your speaker setup to "Stereo," then let the game's audio engine do the rest.

Yea, for like a home theater that is definitely true because there is actually will be depth in the sound rather than the sound just coming from only two sides. I have surround in my home theater which does actually make a difference rather than just regular headphones which companies do to steal your money.

Ah okay, I mean that is nice to to match up with other things too. I hope it is good because even if there is or isn't surround sound, the original HyperX Cloud which is what I have is already a really great headset for the $100 and below price range as it even competes with some higher end gaming headsets. Hope it is good too! :] (Most likely will!)
