Midi Enigma Machine

Trying to build a program that will encrypt midi keyboard input into a new set of midi data, but it can also decypher the new set into the original form. It would essentially work like an Enigma Machine but with numbers instead of letters.

 

Does anyone have any idea how I could do this?

 

Was wondering if it could be done with Max 6 by Cycling 74?

 

Any help is appreciated.
