Windows 8 messenger app help

Hi guys,

 

When I send a Facebook message through the messenger app (the default windows 8 one) on my surface pro the message comes up twice. However the recipient only gets it once.

 

For example:

     My friend: hi

     Me: hey

     Me: hey

 

 I looked for updates and ran the app troubleshooting thing but that didn't help so any ideas? Thanks!

I don't have Facebook, but via MSN, it works fine on my side. Can you try over a different network?

It happens to me too, Don't really know about a fix except for a faster network connection. I've also had this happen on my WP7.8 device before, it just fixes itself up sometimes, and a good network helps too.

I think it's a bug. The same thing happens to my brother. Hopefully it'll get fixed some time though it's not a major issue. Just a minor annoyance.
