Weird noises from PSU

I recently cleaned my computer from dust using a air compressor. It has worked great all the other times when I've done it, until now. My PSU (a Chieftec super series 650w) has started making weird humming/rattling/howling noises at random times ever since. Is it possible that the fan has gotten out of place when I blew the dust away? Or has it maybe been damaged? Don't feel like buying a new one, even though its kinda old.

Some parts in a PSU are glued down so they don't vibrate under some specific loads maybe you have blown one of these loose. Not harmful for the functioning of the PSU but rather annoying. But is can be the fan to of course.

 

You say the PSU is an older one so I assume there is no warranty left. You can always open it for a visual inspection. Be careful though!

Well for safety sake I would replace your PSU

but If you did not support your fan when you blew it out or used too much pressure its likely that the fan is damaged

Thanks for the responses! Will take a look on the PSU fan when I buy a new case, too much work with cables etc in the current one^^
