my gaming system may be out of date but it is better than my friends core i3 gaming system, my specs are. 

 

Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite

 

GPU: GTX 640 (upgrading to 770)

 

PSU: Corsair CX 500M

 

CPU: Intel core 2 Extreme (Cooled by a Cooler Master Seidon 120m

 

Motherboard: Intel DP45SG Extreme Series P45

 

Ram: 8GB corsair XMS3 1333

 

Sound Card: Asus Xonar DG

 

Cooling: Fans: Corsair AF and SP fans, AF in case, SP on radiator.

 

Storage: Corsair Force GT 120 GB ssd + 2x 1tb Seagate Barracuda.

 

5.25 bays: NZXT Sentry LX, Asus Blue Ray Drive.

 

I believe this is better than some newer gaming rigs.

let me know your opinion on my rig.

 

 

I just upgraded to the Extreme, the water cooler and the fans, next is the graphics card, Gtx 770 or 680.

 

My point, it doesn't need to be the newest to be the best.

Extreme is just a marketing term for those who don't know how to overclock and fall into the gimmick.

Don't get a 770 get a 3570K first.

A 770 with a core 2.... huge bottleneck. Upgrade your cpu first id say. something like a 3570k or 4770k if you have the money
