Blank screen after installing AMD drivers

so i recently build a new system and upon installing the drivers for my r9 290, after the windows logo on boot the screen goes blank with nothing to display, any help on how to fix it?

Did you also install drivers from the disk that came with your GPU? Edit:Because you should not install drivers on top of each other. Remove the old ones first.

 

Also, do you have an Eyefinity setup? Edit: Because AMD's Omega driver have some major issues with Eyefinity at the moment. Use an older version if that's the case.

If you haven't solved the problem yet, I would suggest restoring your system using a Windows installation CD or USB device. If your computer saved a restore point at a time prior to the installation of those drivers, then you should be able to use the restore function in the windows 7 installation tool.

No Eyefinity and i installed drivers from the gigabyte website which just downloaded 14.12 from the AMD website

Boot into safe mode (spamm F8) 

and do this

Tried a restore point before drriver was installed which works, ill try book into safe mode and try that now

Have you double checked that the refresh rate is correct? Also, try turning the monitor off then back on. It doesn't fix the problem but it may work temporarily and allow you to navigate.

If that doesn't work you can also try an older driver. 14.12 has some nice features but it's brand new and some people have issues with it. I'm currently using 14.9 for that very reason. Just make sure to uninstall the 14.12 drivers before you try it.

The monitor is working turning it off and back on doesnt help, it just loses the input after the windows startup screes

Don´t use beta drivers and don´t install the drivers you had problems with before.

Don´t download the drivers under the title "AMD Catalyst Driver".

On the right you´ll see "Helpful Links"

Click on "Previous Drivers and Software"  and select version 14.9

hmm, if you have a different webbrowser.

Try to disable windows internet explorer, but make sure you have a different webbrowser preinstalled!

I once had the same issue with black screen right after the windows logo, because of the internet explorer update.
