Hello everyone,

So i have a quite dated Lenovo y560 laptop with a Radeon 5730 chip in it. Sadly it was that series that AMD(or ati at the time, cant remember which was it) decided to not support anymore, bc of the switchable graphics thingy in it. They just redirected you to go get a driver from the laptop manufacturer. Since the laptop was discontinued the latest driver is from 2010...

So funny thing is, the autodetect and all these things recognize even the chip, download a driver, the newer ones even let it install(older ones just said theres no compatible gpu) and then after reboot it just breaks it completely, and doesnt seem to detect the card and switches to generic display driver...

So I was doing researches on google but no solution, or homebrewed driver worked out for me as of yet.

Could anyone help me with it? Thanks in advance!

I'd be emailing/tweeting/contacting AMD a lot asking for advice.

They would know more than anyone else....what to do.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Thanks, i just didn't bother since i guess they'll just say, "go to the laptop manufacturers site for drivers" as they stated on their driver page.

That's some spooky chip u got there m8

Its an old laptop graphics chip. It's supposedly a beefed up version of the Mobility Radeon HD5650

Yeah you'd expect them to do that again, but maybe...just maybe... they can provide some help.
