Windows 8.1 boot

I recently have not been able to boot my pc. It gets to the part where u have to press a key to type in your password except it will not let me do that. I recently upgraded and have already tried resetting my bios

It sounds like the keyboard isn't being detected by windows, tried unplugging it and changing USB port? Then give it a minute to install it and try then?

Does the system respond at all at the password screen? It could be an issue with the keyboard.

I know the keyboard is being detected. That is definitely not the problem

Does the mouse work at all if you click it?

 

If you press the power button once, does the system start to shut down or do anything (If it's not disabled in the power settings, could mean the system is hanging)

Everything is working including the mouse and powerbutton does work

Only thing I can think of it being is the keyboard then, if it doesn't let you type, but will let you click around the screen.

 

Try logging on using the on-screen keyboard? Then unplug & replug the keyboard when windows has logged on?
