By the way, for ram you could go for the G.Skill Ripjaws X @1600 or 1866MHz.

The ram looks great with a ROG mobo.

Go for Z97 Chip in Asus or gigabyte. so you can overclock if needed or to check the limits of your CPU and learn about it . otherwise there is no reason to buy an unlocked CPU if you are not going to overclock it. don't waste your money on it. buy i5 4690(locked)

CPU: i7 4790K | Ram:Corsair Vengeance 8GB | GPU: Asus R9 270 | Cooling :Corsair H100i | Storage : Intel SSD, Seagate HDDs | PSU : Corsair VS 550 | Case: CM HAF Advanced.

G.Skill Ripjaws X is probably the more popular one actually.

I dont think so when i say poplular i mean the amount of people who have bought it and if you go on google more people have bought corsair vengance. (i might be wrong)

Omg, 1,700 reviews on this G.Skill page, lol.

I'm really convinced that G.Skill is more popular. It really doesn't matter though. Get the one which looks the best on the outside.

honestly, it may be best to go with the cheapest DDR3 that will look good in your system. Watch this video

Having seen that. I would recommend the HyperX Fury b/c those black PCBs are badass! and they have a great warranty.

Edit: I forgot to mention that they automatically overclock to suit the best performance for your system.

That is way better than my first PC 12 months ago xD

All I had was a FX-8350, $90 motherboard, R9 270X and an ancient 80GB HDD (yes that is 80 = eighty lol).

I gradually upgrade until what my signature currently listed.

For a case I suggest you watch HardwareKanucks, they make the best case reviews. Personally I'd get Cooler Master or Corsair unless you already picked your own.

For RAM you can get a single 8GB stick and upgrade later or dual 8GB (16GB) now.

I would personally pick the ASUS VII Hero Z97 motherboard.

Personally I have been very impressed with the gigabyte black series motherboards. I really like their quick boot time.

I have an msi gaming 7 z97 in my personal computer and haven't particularly liked the bios. Msi tries to do a lot more than gigabyte in their bios but many of the things like live update have been glitchy for me personally.

Asus is always a good choice also.

Just on a side note what psu are you going to be using?
