USB or PCI?

So I got my new computer set up online by using my MacBook Pro as an Internet pass through with and Ethernet cable. My speeds are super slow, so I want to get something dedicated as fast as possible. If my Internet subscription is only 5mbps, and I'm one floor above our router, should I get a PCI wireless card or will USB suffice?
