Well I took my old 5770 gpu and decided to see what happens when I put a car fuse tester to the rail of the card.

The card does indeed still work. I was quite honestly surprised to see anything return at all to the tester through the card completely. Though I think there might be some loop backs that signal to the motherboard with temp data or other less power consumption that the card can return a signal with ease.

Just my thoughts but it is very interesting. Let me know what you guys think and give this a try for yourself!

Well I was more worried about shorting out a component with the improper amount of volts, since the tester is only putting 24v at DC. But not all the teeth from the rail will have a ground connection which I have come to a result as well. Though there was one spot on the front of the rail where the light would be very dim as if the card was trying to suck the life out of the battery in the tester. Zombie card lol
