Is my computer worth anything???

Brianbrain

I built this computer around 3 years ago and I am interested in selling it to a good friend of mine. However, I don't know how much it's really worth.

The parts are:

AMD Phenom x4 9850

Asus M4A785-M

Random DVD Drive

1TB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive

8GB Corsair XMS2 800mhz

Ultra 550W Power Supply

XFX ATI 5770

I'm guessing it's worth a lot less than the original $800 I invested in it. Thank you for the help

In the UK you could get between 250-300. Before you translate that to dollars remember to take off tax(20%). Its not too bad of a system. Just shove it on ebay for $350 and see what happens. I saw an alienware with a core 2 quad and a 5770 go for £700 the other day.

Heya,

I did a quick google of what the current prices of them, looks like you could get around $350-$400 if it's all in good working condition  ^_^

I'm gonna guess $400-$500 at best. $250-$350 at worst.

The closer you can get the price to $250 and under the faster you'll get rid of it.

is a old cpu, but is a good old

the machine is a PCIe x16 1.0 generation

but, is a PCIe x16 after all, it can run any new gpu

can not be upgraded, but is still a gamer pc (is not bad)

how much you can sell it, no idea (it be a cool gift, but a bad sell)

Commercially, probably very little...But, if it still works you can always use it for something useful. I have a couple of 10 year+ computers which I use to monitor my servers...They just sit there, until I need them. Of course, I could use a laptop...But since they are bought, and paid for, why not? That also permits me to keep, when necessary, my Servers on a closed environment...With no outside access possible...

You could always convert it to a music server, a file server, or even a media server...Better than buying a prebuilt NAS "shitbox".
