Quietest keyboard?

Go to solution Solved by STRMfrmXMN,

depending how you type its still not all that quiet.

I smash keys hard and from my experience with browns+o-rings they are pretty quiet for something being hit pretty hard. Depends on how you type of course but I use greens and key smashing is my deal.

Cherry MX Red or Cherry MX Brown

Topre probably but they have a pleasant thock noise.

A really chappy mushy rubber dome would be really quiet but the most unpleasant thing to type on ever.

A decent scissor switch board would be moderately quiet.

What is the quietest keyboard?

Chiclet?

Rubber dome?

Cherry MX Browns?

Any other type?

I find the sound of keyboards really annoying and just want to have as little as noise as possible.

Cherry MX Reds with o-rings. Cherry MX Browns with O-rings are about the same. The Logitech G710+ uses Browns with o-rings.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

What type of O-rings would you use though to make it the quietest?

I have heard that these are pretty quiet.

They're all about the same (I think? I could be wrong) from what I know and I hear great things about those things used in orthodontics (braces).

Those were a orings predecessor. Also I believe they are called dental bands.
