Chromecast - Help!

Hi,

 

I've had a chromecast for a while, haven't used it much. However, I want to start using it. I have a Plex media web server thing set up on my PC upstairs, and the chromecast in the 50" TV downstairs. I want to stream my films from the Plex server to the chromecast so I can watch it on the TV. How can I do this? Whenever I play a film through Plex, it plays in the browser right? How can I stream it to the chromecast? Also, how can I stop/pause the film while sitting downstairs without having to run upstairs to my PC to pause it?

You'll need Chrome's Chromecast plugin to stream to the Chromecast. Either that or download and use the Plex app on a smartphone.

If you want to be able to pause/play from your sofa rather than run to your computer, you'll need the smartphone app.
